2Timothy 4:15-18 Opposition 23 Sep 2025

2Ti 4:15 Be on your guard against him yourself,
because he has been bitterly contesting everything that we say.
16 The first time I had to present my defense,
no one came into court to support me.
Every one of them deserted me
-- may they not be held accountable for it.
17 But the Lord stood by me and gave me power,
so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed
for all the gentiles to hear;
and so I was saved from the lion's mouth.
18 The Lord will rescue me from all evil attempts on me,
and bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom.
To him be glory for ever and ever.
Amen.

Alone

Paul stood alone with his defense. Most of us may feel alone with a defense. Still we feel abandoned by others. I have to speak. I am under attack. And I may be the one required to defend the faith or another issue.

Final Destination

Paul knows his final destination: the heavenly kingdom.

Prayer

Jesus, please teach me how to defend the faith and other issues in kind and meaningful ways.
