2Ti 2:16 Have nothing to do with godless philosophical discussions
they only lead further and further away from true religion.
17 Talk of this kind spreads corruption like gangrene,
as in the case of Hymenaeus and Philetus,
18 the men who have gone astray from the truth,
claiming that the resurrection has already taken place.
They are upsetting some people's faith.

Names

Hymenaeus means 'god-of-marriage or singing man.' Philetus means 'friendly man.' To me those names seem to function for teaching.
The teaching is about protecting the church against false teaching.

Resurrection

Did the 'resurrection' already happen? A strange question, since Jesus had risen from the death. What kind of resurrection would be meant? Perhaps the resurrection of the death. The resurrection of the bones or bodies of the death?

Why is there no mention about the presence of Saint John and or Mary in Ephesus?

Jesus, please have patience with my many questions and keep me from long arguments.
