Matthew 22:18-22. Tax Consultation. 29 Sept 2023
Mat 22:18 But Jesus was aware of their malice and replied,
'You hypocrites! Why are you putting me to the test?
19 Show me the money you pay the tax with.'
They handed him a denarius,
20 and he said,
'Whose portrait is this? Whose title?'
21 They replied, 'Caesar's.'
Then he said to them,
'Very well, pay Caesar what belongs to Caesar
and God what belongs to God.'
22 When they heard this they were amazed;
they left him alone and went away.

This is one of my favorite little passages from the gospel. Not just the disciples of the Pharisees and the Herodians were amazed. I am as well.
I face the question which 'taxes' I have to pay. Taxes are not an option, but an obligation.
