Matthew 21:42-46. Cornerstone & Fruits. 19 Sep 2023

Mat 21:42 Jesus said to them,
'Have you never read in the scriptures:
The stone which the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;
this is the Lord's doing and we marvel at it?
43 'I tell you, then,
that the kingdom of God will be taken from you
and given to a people who will produce its fruit.'
44, 45 When they heard his parables,
the chief priests and the scribes realized
he was speaking about them,
46 but though they would have liked to arrest him
they were afraid of the crowds,
who looked on him as a prophet.

The kingdom of God appeared to be in the hands of priests and scribes. At that time, the Jews did not have a king. The 'kingdom' is like a vineyard. It should collect people in the name of God. The kingdom needs workers.
