Settling by Free Will 19 Sep 2020
Deu 29:7 We conquered their country and gave it as heritage to Reuben, Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh.
Israel had requested a peaceful pass-through to Sihon king of Heshbon. As an answer, Sihon attacked Israel, but got defeated.
Several tribes of Israel had requested if they could settle in the conquered area.
It was however not the land where God originally wanted his people Israel to settle. Moses warned them however to remain faithful to Yahweh.
Because of this, a curse was added to the covenant.
First of all the new covenant (of Jesus) does not have curses(?).
But ... what happens if I by free will settle in a land where many idols are worshipped? My answer is that my family will be in a significant larger danger of sinning against God.
An example of such a place? Assume, the Netherlands.
