Matthew 25:1-4. Lamps Without Oil 6 Nov 2023

Mat 25:1 'Then the kingdom of Heaven will be like this:
Ten wedding attendants took their lamps
and went to meet the bridegroom.
2 Five of them were foolish
and five were sensible:
3 the foolish ones,
though they took their lamps,
took no oil with them,
4 whereas the sensible ones
took flasks of oil as well as their lamps.

It is a wedding without a bride. It is a story about being prepared for a wedding. What is the use of a lamp without oil?

Would there be 'lamps without oil' in my life? I do have the capacity to love God and my neighbor. The question is then, 'Do I actually love God and at least some neighbors?'

Jesus, I pray for oil in my lamp.
