'The one who comes after me is more powerful than I', says John the Baptist. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

It is not so clear from the text. Perhaps the kingdom of Heaven requires the baptism with the Holy Spirit. And I may need some fire. Again, it is not so clear to me what the purpose of the fire will be. However, if Jesus wants to baptize me with the Holy Spirit and fire, who am I to refuse?

Prayer

Jesus, I come to you for your baptism and fire. I believe you offer good gifts.

How open am I towards the baptism with the Holy Spirit and fire? Perhaps I am afraid or disappointed.
