It is Paul Revere who is revered in the picture. Many statues of old heroes are pulled down nowadays. That makes it clear, that usually the revering of a person will fade out over time. And even their bad, shadow sides may be disclosed.
Thousands of years back Proverbs 16:18 already said,
"Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall."
Which appears to have a lasting validity in the modern times.

Father God, have mercy on my pride. I translate: "Let me stumble where needed."
