The letters of Saint Paul to Saint Timothy holds some hidden treasures. Saint Timothy always appeared to me one of St. Paul's successors. He died however as a martyr years before Saint Paul dies.
Timothy was bishop in Ephesus before Saint John became bishop of that city. And before Mary settled in Ephesus.

1 Timothy speaks about spiritual gifts. Prophets declaring gifts and laying on of hands of the elders.

Leadership And Character

1 Timothy speaks about what character is required of deacons and elders.
Both deacons and elders need to be able to teach.

Prayer

Jesus, guide me in understanding the message of Saint Paul to Saint Timothy.
