Psalm 133 24 May 2019

Deepak has lived in the past for a year in our house while his wife stayed with their son in Bangalore, India. Last Wednesday Deepak visited us. His wife Smitha had prepared nice gifts for Millet and me. Two really nice shirts. Attached in the shirt were two cards. First we thought those were clothing labels. When Deepak had left we discovered the lovely and beautifully made cards. My card spoke on Psalm 133. A beautiful tiny psalm.

Psalm 133

1 [Song of Ascents] How good, how delightful it is to live as brothers all together!
2 It is like a fine oil on the head, running down the beard, running down Aaron's beard, onto the collar of his robes.
3 It is like the dew of Hermon falling on the heights of Zion; for there Yahweh bestows his blessing, everlasting life.

Comments

I always relate this psalm to Community. I struggled always with the meaning of verse 2. Today I realized: when oil runs down the head of the High Priest, there is anointing on/over the High Priest. The High Priest gets empowered abundantly.

Smitha's beautiful card for me.

Smitha

Thank you Smitha and Deepak for those lovingly made cards. You really have written about important things for me and Millet.
