Transfiguration Impression 1 Mar 2026

The story of Jesus' transfiguration is told in Mat 17:1-9. In my opinion there are various amazing elements in the story:
1. Verse 2 describes the impressive transformation of Jesus.
2. Verse 3 describes Moses and Elijah appearing from the nowhere. And they were talking with Jesus. That implies a conversation of more than several minutes.
3. Verse 4 speaks of Saint Peter proposing to build three shelters ON TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN. He may have brought his sword. A fisherman doing carpentry. How long would that have taken?
4. In verse 5 a BRIGHT cloud casted a shadow. It should have casted light?
5. In verse 5 a voice from the cloud speaks: 'listen to him.'.
Then and only then the disciples got fearful.
They had to listen and that is truly hard.
6. In verse 9 Jesus speaks about his death and resurrection.

Connection Transfiguration and Resurrection.

Something of heaven was brought to earth. With the resurrection, something from earth is brought to heaven?

Jesus, would I be willing to build a shelter for you, Moses and Elijah? Thank you for Saint Peter.
