PSALM 122 - Prayer for my Nation 3 Mar 2020

Dutch people do travel to their Capital. They may like to go there to protest. Actually they seek - in their opinion - Justice. They make their "democratic voice" heard.

The Filipino nation prays in this time for protection against the Corona virus. The Dutch Catholic church prays the prayer of Saint Michael. I like those prayers for countries.

Prayer for my Country

My first concern for my country is that few people know how to connect to God. An important reason why people leave their churches are quarrels. If I can not live in peace with my neighbours, my fellow parishioners and my fellow countrymen, I need reconciliation and fresh commitment to love my neighbour. Perhaps I need a trip to the Capital of the kingdom of God. So that I can hear what the "Throne of Judgement" speaks on my case.

Psalm 122

1 [Song of Ascents. Of David]
I rejoiced that they said to me,
'Let us go to the house of Yahweh.'
2 At last our feet are standing at your gates, Jerusalem!
3 Jerusalem, built as a city,
in one united whole,
4 there the tribes go up, the tribes of Yahweh
a sign for Israel to give thanks to the name of Yahweh.
5 For there are set the thrones of judgement,
the thrones of the house of David.
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem,
prosperity for your homes!
7 Peace within your walls,
prosperity in your palaces!
8 For love of my brothers and my friends I will say,
'Peace upon you!'
9 For love of the house of Yahweh our God
I will pray for your well-being.
