1 Corinthians 12:8 Wisdom And Knowledge 14 June 2024

1Co 12:8 To one is given from the Spirit
the gift of utterance expressing wisdom;
to another the gift of utterance expressing knowledge,
in accordance with the same Spirit;

First a small clarification. I speak with care. Because for many centuries those gifts have not been discussed and recognized. Thus we are re-inventing and re-discovering some works of the Holy Spirit.
Wisdom is the more gentle of the two gifts of verse 8. Wisdom is a sister of love. Knowing some 'truth' may easily hurt some person(s).

Manifestations

The word manifestation may express that the becoming aware is abrupt, and unexpected. It may provide help and give direction.
Wisdom is often very helpful to know how to proceed in interacting with a person or a group of people.
The utterance of knowledge reveals things unknown or hidden to some or more people. It can be a sin or a hindering habit or painful experience. Sometimes an insight where or when to go to meet a certain person or lost object. When it is about sin or a painful past of a person, speaking out needs care, love an wisdom. And since it is a manifestation, that requires a certain maturity and learning to use the gift as a blessing for all involved.

Jesus, guide us into the proper practice of the gifts of your Spirit.
