1 Corinthians 12:28 God Appointed 23 June 2024

1Co 12:28 And those
whom God has appointed in the Church are,
first apostles,
secondly prophets,
thirdly teachers;

after them, miraculous powers,
then gifts of healing,
helpful acts,
guidance,
various kinds of tongues.

God appointed for the service in his church people with various gifts. I assume those gifts came from the Holy Spirit.
As I read it, they were appointed to serve in the church(es).

Community

When God calls me to build community, I ask God to appoint persons with the required skills and gifts. I am sure it will need leaders, teachers, psychologists, social workers and perhaps a treasurer. And the community needs a mission, some tasks to fulfill for the coming kingdom.

Prayer

Jesus, teach me how to pray.
