Matthew 18:34-35. Torturers 31 Jul 2023

Mat 18:34 And in his anger the master handed him over to the torturers till he should pay all his debt. Mat 18:35 And that is how my heavenly Father will deal with you unless you each forgive your brother from your heart.'

First, I am not a theologian.
The master in this story gives an opportunity to the servant to pay his debt with being tortured. It appears to me, that the debt of the servant is forgiving his fellow servant from his heart.
Now, why should torturing be a good means? I make a guess: the torturers are the accusers in the mind of the servant. Hell might be the place where I can't forgive and thus can't be forgiven.

Prayer

Jesus, teach me to improve my forgiving.
