Mat 6:11 Give us today our daily bread.

Why should God give us day by day bread? It reminds me to the manna the Israelites where given in the desert: daily. It as well reminds me to Jesus: 'Man does not live from bread alone.'
Thus bread sustains life on earth. And it is the first request that Jesus recommends to make to our heavenly Father. Furthermore, I pray for all the world.

Without God's generous provision I can't live even a day.

Prayer

Jesus, have mercy on us.

Among the beauties of the 'Our Father' is the universal 'WE' and 'US'. So often I am self centered.
