Matthew 5:18. Purpose of Law 2 Jan 2023

Mat 5:18 In truth I tell you, till heaven and earth disappear, not one dot, not one little stroke, is to disappear from the Law until all its purpose is achieved.

That is a very complicated sentence. There is a 'till' and there is an 'until'. The law will be maintained until either heaven and earth disappear, or until all the purpose of the law will be fulfilled.

I am aware that I use the sentence out of its context. I learn two little things:
1. Perhaps heaven and earth can disappear.
2. The law has a purpose. The purpose is at least that we may know sin.

Prayer

Jesus, teach me to value the law.
