Matthew 5:46-48. Exceptional. 17 Jan 2023

Mat 5:46 For if you love those who love you,
what reward will you get?
Do not even the tax collectors do as much?
47 And if you save your greetings for your brothers,
are you doing anything exceptional?
48 Do not even the gentiles do as much?
You must therefore be perfect,
just as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Exceptional and perfect? Those are very high standards.
It appears that I should let my love rain on all around me. As God lets it rain on all. I can make a small beginning: smile and greet all whom I meet, especially those whom I like to avoid. And fake is not good enough.

Prayer

Jesus, teach me kindness.

Self Evaluation

I need to make a list with people whom I preferable would like to avoid. I am wondering if that would be a small or a huge list.
