PSALM 67 - All Nations Praise 7 Jan 2020

Since yesterday, with psalm 66, there is no more 'david' in the title. Psalm 67 feels like a song. The main theme repeats and repeats. All the earth will praise God joyfully. And all the earth shall be blessed.

World Wide Worship

The world desires pleasure and power to control others. It is easy to talk about others. I desire pleasure as well. Frequently my desire is not on God. I desire coffee, sweets, foods, beer or wine. I may desire to see a movie with beautiful ladies. I desire to be famous. I desire to be known by many.

More loving desire

I would like to be more like Jesus. I desire to (co-)build community where all are valued and can use their talents.

I feel frustrated, not being able to make progress in my desire. I study, I talk, I write.

I find it hard to consider a song as psalm 67: peace and joy for a full world. I fall short in faith. And now the beauty of psalm, music and art saves me. I am willing to sing a beautiful song as psalm 67 is.

Psalm 67

1 [For the choirmaster. For strings. Psalm, Song]
May God show kindness and bless us,
and make his face shine on us. Pause
2 Then the earth will acknowledge your ways,
and all nations your power to save.
3 Let the nations praise you, God,
let all the nations praise you.
4 Let the nations rejoice and sing for joy,
for you judge the world with justice,
you judge the peoples with fairness,
you guide the nations on earth. Pause
5 Let the nations praise you, God,
let all the nations praise you.
6 The earth has yielded its produce;
God, our God has blessed us.
7 May God continue to bless us,
and be revered by the whole wide world.
