Exaggerate 30 Jan 2019
When emotions hinder me
Sometimes my habitual reactions to experiences are unpractical. It may help to exaggerate my reaction in my mind, so that I can smile about them.
Purposely exaggerating may help to understand self.
The need to modify or control my response
I want to have control over my response. Therefore it helps when I can judge realistic. Purposely exaggerating the event in my mind helps me to relax and smile.
Example
A friend tells a long and boring story. He frequently repeats himself. I already understand what he talks about. But clearly he likes to release himself and talk more.
I can exaggerate (silently): It is the most boring story I ever heard. It is totally ridiculous.
I hope I can smile and turn my attention to my friend in need.
