Song of Solomon: Fruits 10 May 2020

The Holy Spirit plays an important role in the relationship between God and 'the community he brings together'.
Sol 7:7-11 speaks about abundant fruits. I am reminded to the fruits of the Spirit as described in the letter of Saint Paul to the Galatians.
Till this morning I did not know what a date palm is. The picture below shows it. It has abundant fruit.
The Lover (God) declares: I have decided,
'I shall climb the palm tree,
I shall seize its clusters of dates!'

God likes to harvest abundant fruit of His Spirit. We are supposed to be the tree.
And now I am back in Genesis:
Gen 2:9 From the soil,
Yahweh God caused to grow every kind of tree,
enticing to look at and good to eat,
with the tree of life in the middle of the garden ...
Now you are ready to read Sol 7, especially verse 11 where the beloveth (my community) says:
'I belong to my love, and his desire is for me.'

Gal 5:22

On the other hand the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control;

Sol 7:7-11

7 How beautiful you are,
how charming, my love, my delight!
8 In stature like the palm tree,
its fruit-clusters your breasts.
9 I have decided,
'I shall climb the palm tree,
I shall seize its clusters of dates!'
May your breasts be clusters of grapes,
your breath sweet-scented as apples,
10 and your palate like sweet wine.
BELOVED:
Flowing down the throat of my love,
as it runs on the lips of those who sleep. 11 I belong to my love,
and his desire is for me.
