Zechariah. Unpaid Labor. 8:9-10. 4 February 2025

Zec 8:9 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this,
"Take heart, you who today hear these promises uttered by the prophets
since the day when the foundations of the Temple of Yahweh Sabaoth were laid,
that the sanctuary would indeed be rebuilt.
10 For up to now,
men were not paid their wages
and nothing was paid for the animals either;
and it has not been safe for anyone to come and go,
because of the enemy,
since I had set each one against everyone else.

Laborers Unsafe

Till this moment nothing had been paid to the temple builders. The animals for the sacrifices had not been paid. Because God had caused confusion, as I understand.

Volunteers

In today's church there are very few paid workers. How can we build up our parish with no workers? I believe that we do have sufficient resources. There might however be confusion and mistrust.

Prayer

Jesus, Jesus I ask for more finances and for more workers in your kingdom.
