Matthew 6:24. Two Masters. 1 Feb 2023

Mat 6:24 No one can be the slave of two masters: he will either hate the first and love the second, or be attached to the first and despise the second. You cannot be the slave both of God and of money.

If I chose to be the slave of money, I can't be the slave of God. Am I the slave of money? I can't deny that finances take a serious role in my choices.
The other way around: when I am the slave of God, I can't be the slave of money. Fine. But how can I be the slave of God?

I could be a slave of quite some other things. I do not get clearly from the text: "Am I supposed to be the slave of God?"

Jesus, please teach me about being a slave of God.
