Matthew 8:8-9. Faith and Authority. 22 Feb 2023

Mat 8:8 The centurion replied,
'Sir, I am not worthy to have you under my roof;
just give the word and my servant will be cured.
9 For I am under authority myself
and have soldiers under me;
and I say to one man, "Go," and he goes;
to another, "Come here," and he comes;
to my servant, "Do this," and he does it.'

Just two small verses. The first verse is every day still prayed by millions of people.
The centurion recognizes that Jesus commands have authority. In this case, Jesus has authority to heal sickness. And the centurion trusts in that.

Prayer

Jesus, teach me to grow in faith in your authority.

I struggle with belief in the power to heal with Jesus in those days.
