PSALM 100 - Repeating Words 10 Feb 2020
In the psalms I can find frequently repeating themes and words. Something like the repeating tiles in the picture. It seems that the repetitions in the psalms have build a more complex beauty than one can see at a first glance.
Appreciating the Psalms
That makes it easy to understand that "living and understanding" the psalms takes repeated reading and singing. That is what the prayer of the catholic and protestant churches is doing. In my opinion even the emotions of the psalms need to be undergone with as much senses as possible. Sing, Shout, Raise hands, Dance, Play instruments.
Psalm 100
1 [Psalm. For thanksgiving]
Acclaim Yahweh, all the earth,
2 serve Yahweh with gladness,
come into his presence with songs of joy!
3 Be sure that Yahweh is God, he made us,
we belong to him, his people,
the flock of his sheepfold.
4 Come within his gates giving thanks,
to his courts singing praise,
give thanks to him and bless his name!
5 For Yahweh is good,
his faithful love is everlasting,
his constancy from age to age.
