And suddenly there was a voice from heaven, 'This is my Son, the Beloved; my favor rests on him.'

Again something rests on Jesus. First the Holy Spirit and now God's favor.

What would that favor be? First, perhaps simply the Holy Spirit. Why would God's favor not rest on His Son and thus as well on his other children?
Not to forget, God's favor may rest on Jesus as saviour. He is chosen to be our redeemer.

Prayer

Jesus, be my Redeemer. So that the favor of God may rest on me as well.
