Then Jesus was led by the Spirit out into the desert to be put to the test by the devil.

Strange enough, it is the Holy Spirit who leads Jesus to a place with a purpose: to be put to the test by the devil.

I suppose that the devil is usually near to places where God's grace shines abundantly. Where the Spirit operates, there the devil likes to mess up. We will see in the coming days how that could work.

Prayer

Father God, I pray that you please do not put me to the test, but your will be done.

Where would I be tested in my life? By inaction, just waiting aimlessly for instance.
