1 Corinthians 14:36-38 Commandment 3 August 2024
1Co 14:36 Do you really think that you are the source of the word of God?
Or that you are the only people to whom it has come?
37 Anyone who claims to be a prophet,
or to have any spiritual powers
must recognize that what I am writing to you is a commandment from the Lord.
38 If anyone does not recognize this,
it is because that person is not recognized himself.

Saint Paul began this First Corinthians letter with talking about dissensions and authority. And here the same theme comes back.
Spiritual Powers
What could spiritual powers be? I would know:
- power of knowledge. It may bring hidden things into the light.
- power of healing. An instant healing is a powerful thing.
- power working miracles. E.g. multiplication of bread.
Saint Paul says that all such powers should be used orderly.
Prayer
Jesus, teach me wisdom with using power.
