Matthew 20:17-19. Towards Jerusalem 26 Aug 2023

Mat 20:17 Jesus was going up to Jerusalem,
and on the road he took the Twelve aside by themselves
and said to them,
Mat 20:18 'Look, we are going up to Jerusalem,
and the Son of man is about to be handed over
to the chief priests and scribes.
They will condemn him to death
Mat 20:19 and will hand him over to the gentiles
to be mocked and scourged and crucified;
and on the third day he will be raised up again.'

I know an organization Towards Jerusalem Counsil II. They aim to reconcile Jewish believers in Jesus with the churches.
Jesus, being a Jew, needed to be condemned by the Jews and to be handed over to the gentiles, perhaps you and me.
I see a Jesus who is willing to be mocked, scourged and crucified. On the third day he would be raised up.

Prayer

Jesus, please save our world, being in labor pains. Help us to prepare for your 2nd coming.
