Matthew 20:13-16. Not Unjust 25 Aug 2023

Mat 20:13 He answered one of them and said,
"My friend, I am not being unjust to you;
did we not agree on one denarius?
Mat 20:14 Take your earnings and go.
I choose to pay the last-comer as much as I pay you.
Mat 20:15 Have I no right to do what I like with my own?
Why should you be envious because I am generous?"
Mat 20:16 Thus the last will be first, and the first, last.'

The landowner answered just one of them. Someone who was envious. He said, 'Take your earnings and go.'

The parable speaks about the kingdom of Heaven. Perhaps we are not supposed to be envious in heaven.

Jesus, thank you for inviting us to heaven.
