Matthew 20:9. L.I.F.O. 23 Aug 2023

Mat 20:9 So those who were hired at about the eleventh hour came forward and received one denarius each.

Excerpt from THE NEW JERUSALEM BIBLE, copyright (c) 1985 by Darton, Longman & Todd, Ltd. and Doubleday, a division of Penguin Random House, Inc. Reprinted by Permission.

L.I.F.O. is a shortcut for Last In First Out. It is like with a pile of pancakes. It is simply convenient to use first the top most, baked last one.

Imagine, the caretaker faced a line of workers. In front the workers of the eleventh hour. They looked fresh and happy. Especially after having received their denarius. All other laborers saw what happened.
Take note, the overseer is a true servant, almost a machine. No one says a thank you to him. No one asks him a question.

Prayer

Jesus, thank you for paying fair wages.

Time to Pay
