Mat 20:2 He made an agreement with the workers for one denarius a day and sent them to his vineyard.

The landowner hires the workers. He is not the one who manages the vineyard. He just sends the workers. As if they are on their own.
The denarius holds the image of the Roman emperor (Luke 20, 24). Perhaps only useful for life in the Roman empire.
