1 Corinthians 6:17-19 My Body: A Temple. 12 Apr 2024

1Co 6:17 But anyone who attaches himself to the Lord
is one spirit with him.
18 Keep away from sexual immorality.
All other sins that people may commit are done outside the body;
but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.
19 Do you not realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit,
who is in you and whom you received from God?

A temple sounds to me as a holy place. A place dedicated to God.

Against My Own Temple

Doing sexual immorality is a sin against my own body. Which is the place where the Holy Spirit should reside. Interestingly, it does not say, "a sin against God?"

Prayer

Jesus, teach me how to sanctify my "temple."
