1 Corinthians 6:8-10 Inheriting The Kingdom 8 Apr 2024

1Co 6:8 And here you are,
doing the injustice and the defrauding,
and to your own brothers.
9 Do you not realize that people who do evil
will never inherit the kingdom of God?
Make no mistake --
the sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, the self-indulgent, sodomites,
10 thieves, misers, drunkards, slanderers and swindlers,
none of these will inherit the kingdom of God.

Assume that I love God. And God - who is my Father - instructs me: "William, do not do this special thing. If you do it, you will die."
Whether I accept the 'commandment' or not, it is up to me. What are my options?

My Choices

I could debate with God or with some Devil. Is this really true? Debate may create chaos.

The option which interests me is obedience out of love. As if that would be easy! I might fail. Now my hope is that God accepts my love and respect. When I admit, "I messed it up," God, my Father, may show mercy on me.
It is important for me that I seek to learn to trust and submit to God.
My own way will never provide eternal life.

Prayer

Jesus, be my redeemer. Teach me your father's ways.
