1 Corinthians 7:17-19 On Circumcision. 26 Apr 2024

1Co 7:17 Anyway let everyone continue in the part
which the Lord has allotted to him,
as he was when God called him.
This is the rule that I give to all the churches.
18 If a man who is called has already been circumcised,
then he must stay circumcised;
when an uncircumcised man is called,
he may not be circumcised.
19 To be circumcised is of no importance,
and to be uncircumcised is of no importance;
what is important is the keeping of God's commandments.

Saint Paul holds that for a Christian, it is not important whether he is circumcised or not. For a Jew however, that might matter.

The Important Thing

Keep God's commandments. That sounds simple and straight forward. What I observe is that the first Christians like to keep things simple, but with love and respect.

Jesus, please plant God's commandments deep in my heart.
