Matthew 11:18-19. Wisdom Justified 8 Apr 2023
Mat 11:18 For John came, neither eating nor drinking,
and they say, "He is possessed."
19 The Son of man came, eating and drinking,
and they say, "Look, a glutton and a drunkard,
a friend of tax collectors and sinners."
Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.
Blaming is easy. It is as well degrading. Both for the listener and for the speaker. It easily may happen that the one who blames refuses his or her own responsibility, the action which would have been normal. 'I played the flute and you did not dance.'
Jesus says it thus: 'Wisdom is justified by her deeds.'
Jesus, thank you for those wise words: 'wisdom justified by deeds.'
Before I know it, I complain: a sign that I struggle with taking appropriate caring actions in a certain situation.
