Matthew 11:25-26. Reason to Bless 10 Apr 2023

Mat 11:25 At that time Jesus exclaimed,
'I bless you, Father, Lord of heaven and of earth,
for hiding these things from the learned and the clever
and revealing them to little children.
26 Yes, Father, for that is what it pleased you to do. ...'

In Genesis (e.g. Isaak, Jacob) the blessings were given by the father. Now a Son blesses his Father. Jesus blessed FOR reasons, for finding reason.
Now I suspect, that a father as well blesses a son for finding reason, which might be having trust or favor on a son. It could be for identifying a gift or talent in a son. Fathers observe their children.

God seeks reason to Bless

God may seek what blessing suits a child, what blessing can be entrusted to a child without hurting that child.
And so: God can not bless the learned and clever. He can only bless those who turn wisdom into real life: children. Those give reason for blessing to the father. They obey.

When Jesus blesses the Father, he acknowledges what the father is already doing.

Prayer

Jesus, I too bless your Father for what He is already doing. I recognize his Wisdom.
