Matthew 11:28-30. Change of Employer 12 Apr 2023

Mat 11:28 'Come to me,
all you who labor and are overburdened,
and I will give you rest.
29 Shoulder my yoke and learn from me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.
30 Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden light.'

Jesus calls! He does not call everybody in this passage. He calls people who labor and carry heavy loads. He calls workers, people willing to do work.
First he will give rest. A Sabbath? A time of restoration? There is more to come.

The New Labor

Shoulder the yoke of Jesus, then you are going to learn from the master. This sounds like coaching. Please do it, the master is gentle and humble in heart. And while carrying the light yoke you learn, to find rest for your soul.

The burden of Jesus, the Way of Jesus, is easy and not hard.

Jesus, please employ me and teach me.
