Matthew 12:46-50. Jesus' Family 30 Apr 2023

Mat 12:46 He was still speaking to the crowds
when suddenly his mother and his brothers were standing outside
and were anxious to have a word with him.
48 But to the man who told him this Jesus replied,
'Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?'
49 And stretching out his hand towards his disciples he said,
'Here are my mother and my brothers.
50 Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven
is my brother and sister and mother.'

What is the will of the Father?

1. To believe that God loves me.
2. To face the truth about myself:
2a That I am valuable and deserve the love of others.
2b That I fall short in loving and caring for others.
3. Facing my fears and anxieties.
In summary, to live in freedom and truth.

Prayer

Jesus, help me to live in truth and to listen to the Holy Spirit.
