Song of Solomon: Prologue 10 Apr 2020
Sol 1:2 BELOVED:
Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth,
for your love-making is sweeter than wine;
Sol 1:3 delicate is the fragrance of your perfume,
your name is an oil poured out
and that is why girls love you.
Sol 1:4 Draw me in your footsteps,
let us run.
The king has brought me into his rooms;
you will be our joy and our gladness.
We shall praise your love more than wine;
how right it is to love you.
Good Friday
I am writing for "Good Friday". Especially on this day, the fragrance of the love of the Lover can be smelled. The lover died for the beloveth. He gave his all.
Jesus died so that the Kingdom of God could come more nearby. He did not die for just one person. He died for many.
Comment: Solomon is an ancestor of Jesus.
An Interpretation
In verse 2, the lover allures me to follow him. His Fragrance is like oil poured out. Perhaps the Holy Spirit. The "girls" - spirit of mankind? - love it.
Verse 4 starts in the first person singular: "I" and it changes to a first person multiple: "we". I shall follow my lover, but we shall praise him together. So I read a call into community where the love of Jesus is celebrated.
