Song of Solomon: Interaction 14 Apr 2020
This part of the song is a duet. The lover and the beloved sing alternatingly.
Sol 1:15 - 2:5
- How beautiful you are, my beloved,
how beautiful you are! Your eyes are doves.
16 - How beautiful you are, my love,
and how you delight me! Our bed is the greensward.
17 - The beams of our house are cedar trees,
its paneling the cypress.
2:1 - I am the rose of Sharon, the lily of the valleys.
2 - As a lily among the thistles, so is my beloved among girls.
3 - As an apple tree among the trees of the wood,
so is my love among young men.
In his delightful shade I sit, and his fruit is sweet to my taste.
4 He has taken me to his cellar,
and
his banner over me is love.
5 Feed me with raisin cakes,
restore me with apples,
for I am sick with love.
Love to Love?
How would God and Israel love one-another? How would God and the church love one-another? How would God and "His people called together", the community of god, love one-another. How much I would hope this happens with shouts of joy and love. Because God is good and His banner over us is love.
A Try
God: my people, how beautiful you are.
People: we admire your goodness.
God: my beloved people, I love all your good deeds.
People: you are the delight of our hearts.
God: My beloved people, I love your joyful celebrations.
People: We love your wonders of healing.
God: my people, I love your unity of mind and purpose.
A love affair is a two-way communication accompanied by deeds supporting the words.
A loving God can be trusted and loved.
